There are numerous promotions and discounting scenarios configurable in iVend Retail via Bonus Buys module and Discount Resolution Setup module. A few possible scenarios with examples are listed below – each example is tagged with the specific area in iVend that allows the user to configure the promotion and/or discount.
The types of Promotions and Discounts supported in iVend Retail are listed below:
1. Discount by Percentage or Amount off on items produced by Manufacturers based on date ranges (Manufacturer Discount)
Example: 10% off on all Reebok products between 15 Oct and 31 Dec.
2. Discount by Percentage or Amount off on all items sold to a customer belonging to particular customer group (Customer Group Discount)
Example: 10% off on all products for corporate customers between 15 Oct and 31 Dec.
3. Discount by Percentage or Amount off on a specific item (Product Discount)
Example: 10% off on a Dell Laptop
4. Discount by Percentage or Amount off on specific items based on a date range (Special Pricing)
Example: Buy Dell Laptop between 1 Oct and 15 Oct and get a 10% discount.
5. Discount by Percentage or Amount off on specific items based on its volume sold (Special Pricing)
Example: Buy 1 Dell Laptop and get 5% discount but buy 2 Dell Laptops and get 10% discount
6. Percentage or Amount discount based on the Transaction Total (Bonus Buys)
Example: Purchase any items where the transaction total is equal to or greater than $500 and get 10% discount.
7. Percentage of Amount discount based on Total Transaction Quantity (Bonus Buys)
Example: Buy Any 5 items and get 5% discount.
8. Buy X for the price of Y (Bonus Buys)
Example: Buy 3 shirts for the price of 2.
9. B1G1F [Buy 1 Get 1 Free] (Bonus Buys)
Example: Buy 1 perfume and get another one free.
10. Buy items to a particular bill value and get an item free (Bonus Buys)
Example: Buy items worth $200 and get a wrist watch free.
11. Buy for a particular bill value and get a Percentage or Amount discount off on the total bill value (Bonus Buys)
Example: Buy items worth $300 and get 10% off or buy items worth $500 and get 15% off.
12. Purchase any “n” items from a product category or product group and get a Percentage discount (Bonus Buys)
Example: Purchase any three items from the Apparel and Footwear category and get a 10% discount.
13. Purchase items from a Product Category or Product Group and get an item from the same Category or Group free (Bonus Buys)
Example: Purchase 2 shirts and get a pair of trousers free.
14. Purchase items from one Product Category and get a free item from a different Product Category (Bonus Buys)
Example: Purchase 2 shirts from the Apparel Category and get an Aftershave from the Health and Beauty Category free.
15. Purchase more than one item and get a Percentage discount on the lowest value item (Bonus Buys)
Example: Buy one shirt worth $100, another worth $90 and get 50% off on the lowest value item
16. Buy items from one Product Group and get a discount on items from another Product Group (Bonus Buys)
Example: Buy a Men’s Shirt from the Men’s Clothing Product Group and get 25% off on a Shirt from the Children’s Clothing Product Group
17. Get a free or heavily discounted gift certificate on fulfilling certain conditions (Bonus Buys)
Example: Get a free $25 gift certificate on purchases above $500.
18. Get additional loyalty points on purchases of items worth more than X amount (Bonus Buys)
Example: Get 100 Bonus Loyalty Points on all purchases above $500.
19. Get a Discount Coupon (Bonus Buys)
Example: Get a Discount Coupon worth $30 on all purchases above $500.
In addition to the above promotions, you can also with Fixed Price Promotion schemes:
a. Combine the multiple conditions in one promotion
Buy 2 Quantity from Product Group A or 2 quantity from Product Group B to Get 10% discount.
Buy 2 Quantity from Product Group A and Get a $10 Gift Card or Get 20 Loyalty points.
Buy “X” product and get “Y” product at a fixed price.
Buy “N” quantity of “X” product at a fixed price.
Buy any “N” products from a product category or product group and get a fixed price product from product category or product group.
b. Promotion conditions can be applied for:
· A particular Store and Store Group
· Loyalty Levels
· Date Ranges
· Time Ranges
· Days of the week
Example: A promotion can be defined as only being applicable on Wednesday and Friday between 12 Noon and 4pm
c. An Exclusion list can be maintained on the basis of:
· Customer Group
· Product
· Product Group
· Product Category
· Loyalty Levels
