Datec Fiscal Printer Error “Tax Rate Not Found” After VAT Rate Change

Problem Statement:
After updating the VAT rate from 16.5% to 17.5%, fiscal receipt printing fails on Datec fiscal printers. Although transactions are completed and saved in iVend, the fiscal receipt does not print fully, and the printer enters an error state, displaying “Tax rate not found.
Symptoms :
Receipt prints partially and stops
The fiscal printer goes into error mode
Receipt is not fiscalized
POS transaction is saved successfully.
Issue observed across all stores and POS terminals
An error appears after the VAT rate change without a firmware upgrade
Root Cause :
The VAT code configured in iVend Hardware Setup was not updated to match the newly changed VAT rate. Datec fiscal printers strictly validate VAT rate mappings at the hardware configuration level, and a mismatch results in the “Tax rate not found” error.
Proposed Solution :
Open iVend Hardware Setup.
Navigate to the Datec Fiscal Printer configuration.
Locate the VAT Code mapping.
Update the VAT code to correctly reflect the new VAT rate (17.5%).
Save the configuration.
Restart the POS and re-test fiscal receipt printing.
After correcting the VAT code in the hardware configuration, fiscal receipts print successfully, and the printer operates normally.
