While sending the test email it thrown error as "The SMTP server requires a secure connection"
Environment:
iVend Version 6.6
Problem Statement:
While sending the test email it thrown error as
“The SMTP server requires a secure connection or the client was not authenticated. The server response was: 5.7.0 authentication required”.

Solution:
Please check the below information to solve the issue.
1: Make sure that all SMTP details should be correct like server host, user name, password and server port.
Note: If using server host as “smtp.gmail.com” then default port would be as “587”.
2: Enable SSL field should be checked
3: Make sure the email is allowed for less secure app access.
For Gmail, please refer below link: -
If you were not able to ON the option “allow less secure apps” and showing the message as below screenshot then follow further steps to resolve the issue.
Log into Gmail and navigate to: Account => Security. Find the option as "Signing in to Google" and click on "App Passwords" then follow the below steps:
1. Select an app option as "Other (Custom Name)" and give the name as "iVend".
2. Click on Generate Button
3. Copy the Password and Log into the iVend Management Console and navigate to: Administration > System Initialization > Communication Settings – the Communication Settings page should come up and under SMTP Details, paste the password on field as "User Password".
4. Test the email and it should work fine.
