Introduction:

This article will demonstrate how to resolve the issue of upload templates of Item Matrix in SAP by using the initialization tool, where maybe we can face the below error.

Case Study:

The below example is a case study where we are trying to import the template of Item Matrix by using below navigations but we are unable to import and getting below Error.

In English: - “The Specified conversion is not valid”

In Spanish: - “La conversión especificada no es válida”

Product Version: 

iVend 6.6.

Problem Statement: 

Unable to Validate Item Matrix template.

Administrator >> Setup >>Inventory >> Matrix Item >> Initialization Tool

Note: The file Format of Import template is in Excel format.

Below Screenshot of excel sheet which is trying to import.

Cause:

This issue here was due to unformatted data of Item Matrix template which was used while doing import.

There were four reasons for data was in the wrong format: -

1) Excel template was carrying more blank lines.

2) Item group Code Field was in text format

3) Item Name was blank for some items

4) Item group Code blank.

Because of the data format validated by the initialization tools of SAP to import the data into SAP B1.

Resolutions:

To resolved this issue please follow the below steps: -

Steps 1: -To correct the data format of Item Matrix template as per the below Points.

1. Removed the blank rows from excel.

2. Changed the formatted text to the general in Item Group Code Field.

3. Filled the Item Name where it was blank.

4.Filled the value of item group code field in where it was blank

Steps 2: - Import the template of the item matrix 

After that We have imported the template of the item matrix as per the below Screen and it has successfully validated and uploaded.
