Troubleshooting iVend Replication

Troubleshooting iVend Replication

Introduction

iVend Cloud is a Software as a Service offering that encompasses the full capabilities of the iVend Retail omnichannel solution suite with fully managed services delivered via a hosted infrastructure. iVend Cloud offers seamless communication between the head office and stores.

iVend Cloud comes with a replication engine at the head office. This replication engine has a Replication Dashboard which displays the real time status of a transaction in between head office, store, and Offline POS. The stores with multiple POS can be easily managed and monitored at head office for the replicated data. The Replication Dashboard is viewable through any device which supports an internet browser

The iVend Replication might not work in the following scenarios

  • When Store goes offline

  • When iVend Replication Services are not started.

  • When the iVend Configuration Manager settings are not configured

  • When Replication Dashboard displays POS even after deleting the POS

The following are the steps to troubleshoot the replication issues listed above:

When Store goes Offline

When the network connectivity of the iVend store server goes down for any reason, the replication will not take place between the iVend store and the iVend head office.

The replication will be established only when the iVend store server comes on the network and connects with the iVend head office. Ensure that the iVend store server / offline POS are always connected with the head office.

When iVend Replication Services are not started

The iVend replication services are installed on the Store Server and Offline POS machine. When the iVend Replication service stops or is not started for any reason, the replication between the head office and Store or Offline POS stops.

Go to Run, type “services.msc” and open the services on the Windows machine. Search for iVend Replication Services. Right click on the iVend Replication Services and start / restart it. This re-establishes the connection of the Store, offline POS and Head office server machine.

When the iVend Configuration Manager settings are not configured

The iVend replication will not work when the configurations in the iVend Configuration manager are not done or the information entered is not correct. The following is the configuration on the Store Server are required to run the replication smoothly:

P.S. The service address format should be followed while updating the configurations.

When Replication Dashboard displays POS even after deleting the PO

The Replication Dashboard displays all Store POS and will keep displaying them even after they are deleted from the environment. This is because the Internet Information Server (IIS) components related to the deleted POS are still present.

In this case Reset the IIS. Resetting IIS will remove the components related to deleted POS. Once IIS is reset, reopen the iVend Replication Dashboard and the deleted POS will no longer be displayed on the replication dashboard.

Follow the above mentioned troubleshooting information to resolve the replication issue. If you are not able to resolve the replication issue after following the above mentioned information, please contact support@citixsys.com for further assistance.
