Registering Customer on iVend POS V1

Registering Customer on iVend POS V1

Introduction

A new Customer can be created and registered using either the iVend Retail POS or the iVend Management Console.
Before creating a new customer, the user must search for that customer name (that he is going to create), to see if he or she already exists in the database, using any of the search criteria listed here, such as name, phone, email, fax number, etc. – Refer to the screen image below.
Besides the standard filters in the system, the user can also create User Defined Fields (UDFs) on the Customer Master and these can also be included in the Search screen filter criteria. If we refer to the screen image below, we can see a filter called “Trend” and this represents a UDF that was created by the retailer to suit their own specific business needs.
Then If the customer is not found, the user can create a new customer.
Click the [F3 New] button on the standard iVend Retail main POS transaction screen to bring up the following screen.

Click on in the search criteria field on the left-hand side panel. Enter the search criteria value, on the basis of which you want to fetch the user information, in the top text box and then click on the [F1 Search] button.

Click on the [F3 New] button to create a new customer.

The First Name and Customer Group are mandatory fields for the Customer master profile. The Customer Group can be set to as the default group.
The fields on the Customer master profile can be shown or hidden, using the customize Display Profiles window. To do this, right- click and choose Layout > Customize.

Then drag and drop fields from/to customize box to show or hide them on the Customer master profile.

There is an option on the Customer master profile to enable Loyalty membership.

And this option is available for the Loyalty Program for which the Customer Code or the Loyalty Card is Attached to the Customer.

Loyalty Card

To register a Loyalty Card other than for the Customer Code which is different with customer, click on the iVend Retail logo located in the top left-hand corner of the main POS transaction screen.

Under the Customer Operations menu, click on [Register Loyalty Customer Search].

This will open the Loyalty Card Search screen, which is very similar to the Customer Search screen that we saw earlier in this article.
The user can search on the existing Loyalty Card Customers before creating any new Loyalty Cards.

Click the [F3 New] button to register and create a new Loyalty Customer Card.

Select a Loyalty Program and enter the other required information for the new Loyalty Customer Card.
The Loyalty Id can be entered manually, auto- generated or it can be selected from a pre-defined list. This all is dependent upon the “Card Management” option that has been defined in the selected Loyalty Program.
