Problem Statement: 

Layaway item can not be added to the plan.select a plan with inventory method as: Sale

Layaway item can not be added to the plan.select a plan with inventory method as: Delivery

Symptoms:

Not Applicable

Resolution/Work Around:

Layaway and fulfillment plan, can have configured based on selection "inventory allocation method " as Sale or Delivery.

Means Special order and Layaway transaction can we completed with the help of attached Layaway and fulfillment plan.

So, while doing Layaway transaction, if you selected Layaway plan as "inventory allocation method " option with sale and fulfillment plan as   "inventory allocation method " select option Delivery or vice versa, then among any one above error showing.

Recommendations /Suggestion: 

in Layaway transaction, if you selected Layaway plan as "inventory allocation method " option with sale and fulfillment plan should selected as “inventory allocation method " select option sale or else above error will come.
