iVend POS - Standard Report

iVend Retail POS  Creating a Standard Report using the Wizard

This article provides the basic steps for creating a Standard Report through the use of the Report Wizard.

When creating a report using the Standard Report Wizard, the report will contain one DataBand or one Data Table (depending on what is selected). The picture below shows a window of the Standard Report Wizard:

1. Data Source: In this step, the data source is defined. This step is mandatory.

1. Select Columns: In this step, the columns of the data source are selected. This step is mandatory.

1. Columns Order: This step defines the position of the columns in the DataBand. The top-down order of columns shown in the panel corresponds to their left-to-right position in a report.

1. Sort: In this step, it is possible to specify elements and sorting direction. In the picture “Figure 2”, a sample of the Selection Parameters Panel for sorting is shown:

5. Filters: In this step, it is possible to set the conditions for filtering. In the picture “Figure 3”, a sample of the selection filtering parameters is shown:

6. Groups: This step defines the conditions for grouping. It is necessary to select a data column by which the conditions for grouping will be created.

7. Totals: In this step, it is possible to select a function for calculating totals by any data source column. For each data column, its own function of aggregation can be set.

8. Themes: This step defines the report style.

9. Layout: In this step, the basic report options are set. Among them are: Page Orientation, a Component that will be used for report rendering (DataBand or Table) and Report Unit.

10. The New Data Source button is used to create a new data source.

Click the [Preview] button or invoke the Viewer pressing F5 or clicking the Preview menu item. The picture below shows a sample of a standard report:
