Introduction
One of the advanced features available in iVend Retail Point of Sale (POS), is the feature to allow multiple sales people to be attached to a transaction and/or on individual line items within a transaction at the POS. This provides flexibility to sell items which are managed by different logical departments or teams in the same transaction and where the user wishes to track the sales value of items sold by individual sales people.
Enabling the Allow Multiple Sales Persons on a Transaction feature in iVend
1. To start with the user needs to enable the option for attaching multiple sales people to a transaction line. To do this, log into the iVend Management Console and navigate to: Administration > System Initialization > Enterprise - the Enterprise Settings window will come up.
2. Scroll down in the settings and select the option, ‘Allow Multiple Sales Person On Transaction Item’ by checking it to enable the feature. Click [Ok] to save the settings and to close the screen.
You need to restart the Management Console and the POS for the changes to take effect.
The iVend Retail POS is now configured to allow the user to add multiple sales persons at two levels:
a. Namely at the Total Transaction level (Header level) and…
b. At the individual Line Item level (Detail level).
Mentioned below are the processes that need to be followed in order to attach multiple sales person on:
· The Transaction Level
· Line Item Level
Transaction Level:
1. Log into the iVend POS and open a new sales transaction. Scan in one or more products and click on the [F4 Sale Edit] button to open the Sale Edit screen.
2. Click on the Sales Person field to go to the Sales Person Selection screen.
3. Click on the [Add] button to see the list of sales persons available in the iVend POS. To select one or more sales persons, select the row(s) in the grid and click the [Ok] button.
Using Ctrl-click will allow the user to select multiple sales persons in the grid.
4. Once the sales persons are selected, then select the Percentage field for each Sales Person in the grid and enter the percentage in the calculator window provided on the right hand side of the screen. Enter a value less than hundred in both rows with total of both rows not exceeding one hundred percent (100%). In case user wants to divide the percentage equally among the sales persons selected, in this case two. The user can simply click the [Distribute] button to equally divide the percentage among the sales persons in the grid. In this example it will be a 50:50 split, as number of sales persons in the grid selected are two (2).
The total of the values selected for the rows should not be greater or less than one hundred (100). In case the total value does not add up to one hundred correctly, then the system will not accept the values and will prompt the user to match the condition that one hundred percent (100%) must be fulfilled before they can proceed.
5. After the sales persons are added, the screen returns to the ‘Sales Edit’ screen. On clicking the [Ok] button, the system will prompt the user if they would like to associate the Sales Persons to all item lines in the transaction - Click [Yes] to confirm.
6. The user will be able to see the Employee Id of only one of the Sales Persons in the Sales Person field in the Sale Edit screen, which will represent the first Sales Person in the grid that was selected in the Sales Person Selection screen. However, the system has recorded multiple sales persons for the transaction, which can be confirmed by clicking back in the Sales Person field, which will reopen the Sales Person Selection screen – refer to the following screen images for guidance.
Item Line Level:
1. Log into the iVend POS and open a new sales transaction. Scan in one or more products and click on the [F5 Item Edit] button to open the Sale Item Edit screen.
2. Click on the Sales Person field to go to the Sales Person Selection screen.
3. Then follow the same steps as outlined for selecting the Sales Persons at the Sale Edit level.
4. The only other difference at this level, is that the system will not prompt the user to copy the selected sales persons to all line items in the transaction as we are only a attaching the sales person(s) to a specific individual line.
