Introduction
With the option of the Customer Facing Display in iVend, retailers can now exercise the option to be more transparent with processing of a POS transaction to the customer. With dual displays, the customer will be able to see the items being scanned while standing at POS. They will also be able to see the total value and other information being captured at the time of the sale, such as discounts and special Bonus Buy promotional offers.
In this way, the customer can view the POS transaction in a similar fashion to the cashier at the POS.
This helps to reduce the chance of error as the customer can keep track of their purchases in real time to ensure the items being scanned have the correct prices and that any discounts or promotions offered in the store are being honored.
To setup the Customer Facing Display, in the Management Console, go to:Administration > Retail Configuration > Hardware Profile
On the Hardware Profile screen, check the option “Show Customer Facing Display” and then click the [Ok] button to save the settings and close the window.
Restart the iVend Retail POS, log in and the Customer Facing Display will launch in unison with the opening of the POS application. In the scenario where there are two screens available, the system will display the Customer Facing Display on the secondary screen chosen by the user.
In the screen image that follows below, we can see an example of the Customer Facing Display screen.
