Inventory movements in iVend Retail and SAPB1


Environment : 

iVend 6.5 Update 6 with SAPB1 9.2

The following document illustrates how “In Stock”, “On Fulfillment (Committed)” and the “Available” quantity is impacted in iVend and SAP Business One (SBO) when performing different types of transactions at the iVend POS.

 
Below is a list of the conventions that will be used throughout this document:

On every page, the first screen shot shows the inventory status in iVend (Inventory view) and the second screen shows the Inventory Data Status in SBO
Inventory changes/updates are in the Retail Warehouse
Sales Fulfillment          =     Fulfillment plan with inventory allocation method as SALE
Delivery Fulfillment    =      Fulfillment plan with inventory allocation method as DELIVERY
 

Below is the status of inventory for inventory item iVend and SBO respectively before any transactions were processed.

Sale transaction with “SALE” type Fulfillment plan

 Creation phase


After performance of a sales transaction for a quantity of 1 (One) at the POS with a “SALE” type fulfillment plan attached to the transaction, the status of the inventory is as follows:

In iVend:


  1. In Stock Quantity reduces by 1
  2. Available Quantity reduces by 1
  3. On Fulfillment Quantity (Committed) increases by 1
 

In SBO:


  1. In Stock quantity reduces by 1
  2. Available quantity reduces by 1
  3. Committed (On Fulfillment) – no change/value
  

Sale transaction with “SALE” type fulfillment plan

Delivery phase


Upon creating the delivery against the Sale created above, the impact to inventory is as follows:
 

In iVend:


  1. In Stock Quantity remains unchanged
  2. Available Quantity remains unchanged
  3. On Fulfillment Quantity (Committed) reduces by 1
  

In SBO:


  1. In Stock remains unchanged
  2. Available remains unchanged
  3. Committed (On Fulfillment) – no change/value
  

Sales transaction with “DELIVERY” type fulfillment plan

 

Creation phase


After performance of a sales transaction for a quantity of 1 (One) at the POS with a “DELIVERY” type fulfillment plan attached to the transaction, the status of inventory will be as follows:

In iVend:


  1. In Stock Quantity remains unchanged
  2. Available Quantity is reduced by 1
  3. On Fulfillment Quantity (Committed) increases by 1
  

In SBO:


  1. In Stock remains unchanged
  2. Available reduces by 1
  3. Committed (On Fulfillment) increases by 1
  

Sales transaction with “DELIVERY” type Fulfillment plan

In iVend:


  1. In Stock Quantity reduces by 1
  2. Available Quantity remains unchanged
  3. On Fulfillment Quantity (Committed) reduces by 1

  2. Available remains unchanged
  3. Committed (On Fulfillment) reduces by 1
  

Special Order (Sales Order) with “DELIVERY” type Fulfillment plan

 

Creation phase

After performance of a Special Order (Sales Order) transaction for a quantity of 1 (One) at the POS with a “DELIVERY” type fulfillment plan attached to the transaction, the status of the inventory is as follows:

In iVend:


  1. In Stock Quantity remains unchanged
  2. Available Quantity remains unchanged
  3. On Fulfillment Quantity (Committed) increases by 1


In SBO:


  1. In Stock remains unchanged
  2. Available reduces by 1
  3. Committed (On Fulfillment) increases by 1

 Special Order (Sales Order) with “DELIVERY” type Fulfillment plan


Delivery phase


Upon creating the delivery against the Special Order created above, the impact to inventory is as follows:

In iVend:


  1. In Stock Quantity reduces by 1
  2. Available Quantity reduces by 1
  3. On Fulfillment Quantity (Committed) reduces by 1

In SBO:


  1. In Stock reduces by 1
  2. Available remains unchanged
  3. Committed (On fulfillment) reduces by 1

Layaway (Layby) with “DELIVERY” type Fulfillment plan

 

Creation phase


After performance of a Layaway (Layby) transaction for a quantity of 1 (One) at the POS with a “DELIVERY” type fulfillment plan attached to the transaction, the status of the inventory is as follows:

In iVend:


  1. In Stock Quantity remains unchanged
  2. Available Quantity remains unchanged
  3. On Fulfillment Quantity (Committed) increases by 1

In SBO:


  1. In Stock remains unchanged
  2. Available reduces by 1
  3. Committed (On Fulfillment) increases by 1

Layaway (Layby) with “DELIVERY” type Fulfillment plan


Delivery phase


Upon creating the delivery against the Layaway created above, the impact to the inventory is as follows:

 

In iVend:


  1. In Stock Quantity reduces by 1
  2. Available Quantity reduces by 1
  3. On Fulfillment Quantity (Committed) reduces by 1
 

In SBO:


  1. In Stock reduces by 1
  2. Available remains unchanged
  3. Committed (On Fulfillment) reduces by 1
