Inventory Management Options in the Enterprise

The option to enable or disable replication between the stores is available under the Enterprise settings in iVend Management Console.

Log in to the iVend Management Console, navigate to: Administration > System Initialization > Enterprise – the Enterprise Settings Screen comes up.

The recommended setting is to keep the option off for “Replicate Inter-Store Inventory”. This is to avoid unnecessary packet transfer over the network and to optimize the network for faster communication.

Switching On the transaction server will still show the real time inventory status of other stores by fetching information from the head office. The stores will still be able to get the inventory status and will be able to see real time inventory status of other stores without replicating data.

On enabling the option for “Replicate Inter-Store Inventory”, a pop up message appears on clicking the enable checkbook. Click on Yes button to enable the Inter Store Inventory Replication. This will replicate the data between the stores. In this case the store will not fetch the data from Head office, rather will fetch the inventory data directly from the replicated store.
