Overview

Inter-store communication is key in a retail environment. In iVend Retail, the system allows users to setup inter-store notifications for the following back office transactions:
· Stock Transfer Request
· Stock Transfer Shipment
· Purchase Order
· Goods Receipt
· Goods Issue
· Goods Receipt PO
· Goods Return
· Coupon
· Bonus Buys
· Promotions
· Query Based Alert
As part of the setup, the communication template for each transaction type will determine which users will be notified when a particular transaction is initiated or completed.
Notifications to users can be sent as in-app messages, e-mails and SMS. Administrators can also create ad-hoc query based reports that can be sent to other users available in the system.

Alert Notification Setup

The following configuration needs to be completed to initialise and run alert notifications is the system:
1. The Scheduler service needs to be configured and running.

2. The Communication Settings need to be configuration.

3. The next step is to create the Alert notification conditions.
There are two type of notifications:
· Report notifications
· Query notifications

Report type notifications


Alert notification setup allows the user to create the alert setup needed to send notifications to a specific user, multiple users or all users. The notification type can be one of the transaction types or a query. A Report must be selected in case the notification type is one of the transactions, and a query must be selected if the notification type is query.
An SMS/Email template must be selected in order to send a proper message to the user with the notification.

Query Type Alert Notification


Alert Notifications can be created and scheduled in iVend Retail. The schedule setup includes:
· Recurrence by minute, hour, day, year, etc.
· Set number of times to be repeated with start/end date and start/end time

Email\SMS Templates

Email and SMS templates are used with the notification messages and these will be shared via any of the notification tools, i.e. System, Email, or SMS.

Alert notifications view

In iVend Retail, notifications can be viewed in the Management Console, POS, Emails, and by SMS.

Conclusion

We can see how retailers can receive great benefit from alert notifications in iVend Retail, which will allow them to run their businesses in a smooth, fast and efficient way based on the actions that can be taken quickly and on time because of the Notification system.
