Introduction

Overview

The iVend Database and SQL Database remain connected and the reports are synchronised automatically. There are a few common errors that are observed when the connection string doesn’t refresh between the iVend Retail Database and SQL Server.

Reason

The Database Login Error occurs when the Crystal Report Viewer fails to refresh the database server connection.
The following screen image illustrates the Database Login Error where it is asking for the SQL Login Id and Password for the configured server and database information. After entering the login details when you click the Finish button, a message box appears showing “Login Failed. Please try again.” Click the [Ok] button and follow the steps mentioned in the section below, Solution to Resolve the Error.

Solution to Resolve the Error

To resolve the Database Login error, follow these steps:
Open the OLEDB (ADO) dialog box.
1. Open the report in Crystal Report Designer.
2. On the Database menu, click Verify Database.
1. Enter the correct server information of the server and database from which the error is thrown.
2. Click the [Finish] button.
Once you have completed troubleshooting, check the report preview and save it. Again, import this report through the iVend Report Manager.
