Facing error "error converting data type nvarchar to bigint" after 6.6 upgrade
Problem -
Facing the error when try to add customer through point of sale.
Below error was reported while saving the record.
"error converting data type nvarchar to bigint"
Version :
iVend 6.6 + Ecuador Localization
Scenario :
The error is witnessed in the system using Ecuador localization after 6.6 upgrade.
Cause - For Ecuador localization, a few custom Stored procedures (e.g. uspValidateCustomerTaxNumber) are to be deployed to get the system working as per legal compliance.
These procedures need to be deployed during the implementation of the system.
After upgrading iVend to 6.6 , these SP are needed to be edited as per new product schema (6.6). If it is not done then this error may come.
Resolution:
If this error is reported then immediately need to contact the team who implemented the system or upgraded the system for the needful action on custom stored procedures.
