Overview
From versions 6.5 Update 2 of iVend Retail, users can perform the End of Day operation from the iVend POS. The End of Day from POS can be done only if the store has 1 POS (Mobile or Terminal). This functionality will be very useful in one Store one POS scenarios wherein the cashier can expedite the End of Day process without the need to go to the Management Console to do so. The cashier can perform the End of Day from the POS and move to the next business date, then the Store Manager can finalize the tills later at their convenience – Till finalization is a function that still needs to be performed at the Management Console.
Configuration
The End of Day from the POS can only be done if the store has just 1 POS (Mobile or Terminal). Configuration is required to be completed that will permit users to perform the End of Day from the POS. For this:
1. Log into the iVend Management Console and navigate to Administration > Human Resources > Employee – the Employee Search window appears.
2. Search for the required employee master record and open in edit mode.
3. In the bottom section of the configuration settings, select the option Allow EOD from POS. Checking this will enable the user to perform the End of Day from the POS.
4. Now when the cashier logs into the POS using the employee mapping that enables the End of Day from POS feature, they will have access to the End of Day process from the POS Time Clock screen.
5. The cashier can assign tills and perform transactions throughout the day on the iVend POS as per normal.
6. At the End of Day, the cashier can navigate to the iVend Retail POS User Menu and select the option Manage Tills under Store Operations.
7. The Till Selection window appears.
8. The cashier can proceed to Remove and Close the Till as per normal operations.
9. The cashier then selects Time Clock – The Time Clock window appears.
10. The cashier selects the End of Day button on the Time Clock screen which allows them to perform the End of Day.
11. The End of Day window appears – The cashier can then select the next Business Date from the drop down.
12. The Shutdown of the application window will appear and the cashier can select the [Ok] button to confirm and the POS application will close.
13. The Store and POS have now moved to next Business date.
14. Later, the Store Manager can access the Management Console and Finalize the Tills at his or her convenience. Finalization of Till is performed after the End of Day process is run. Finalization should be completed before commencing trade of the next Business day.
