Download and Upload master data files in iVend Cloud

The information that is required to configure iVend cloud for an enterprise can be imported and exported into and from iVend Retail. The information should be arranged in a specific order so that it can be imported easily into iVend. The template for the information can be created by exporting the existing data file in iVend using the export button. After saving the file, download it on your local machine and then fill the master data attribute information and save the file. This file then should be uploaded to iVend cloud machine. Once uploaded, then import the file into iVend using import button.

The following is list of master data files that can be imported into iVend and exported from iVend:
  1. Customer Group
  2. Customer
  3. Product
  4. Alternate Product
  5. Upsell Product
  6. Price List
  7. Special Price
  8. Inventory
  9. Gift Certificate
  10. Category
  11. Loyalty
  12. Product Category
  13. Tax Code
  14. Warehouse
 
Export the Master Data file and Download file on local PC
The download of master data file is explained here with an example.

Example: If template for Customer Group is to be created, then open iVend Management Console and perform the following steps:
Step 1. Go to Administration
Step 2. Click on Application Setup
Step 3. Click on Export data > select Customer Group > click Ok> Search and select Customer Group
Step 4. Click on Export to XLS.
Step 5. Save the file on the cloud machine drive.

To download the saved file from the cloud machine to the local machine, click on  the  download button on the top menu bar. Select the file from the location where it was saved and click on the open button. On the Save As screen select the local drive location where you want to save the file and click on the Save button.  Fill in all the information about the respective master data attributes in the file and save.
You are required to upload the master data files to the iVend Cloud to be able to import into iVend. The following are the steps to upload the master data file to a drive of iVend Cloud.

Upload the file to cloud machine and Import in iVend Cloud
To upload the saved file from the local machine to the cloud machine,  click on  the  upload button on the top menu bar. Select the file from the location where it was saved and click on the open button. A pop up window opens with the selected file. Click on the button. The file gets uploaded to the folder on the cloud machine. 
Import the file. Example: If template for Customer Group is to be imported, then open iVend Management Console perform the following steps
Step 1. Go to Administration
Step 2. Click Application Setup
Step 3. Click on Import data
Step 4. select the file path for Customer Group template file and select the sheet name
Step 5. select the object type as Customer Group
Step 6. select the checkbox for file has header, if the file to be imported has header information
Step 7. Click Ok.

This will import the file into iVend and information will get populated for the object selected. This information will be updated in iVend and can be used in executing the transactions on iVend POS.
