Datacap Payment Processor iVend Configuration

Objective

This article provides detailed steps on how to configure the Datacap EMV Payment Processor. It also addresses commonly faced issues during the configuration and helps to provide possible resolutions to the issues that may be encountered.
The Payment Processor can be configured at the Store or at the Enterprise when it is in Mixed mode with a Store It cannot be configured on the Enterprise Server when it is not in Mixed mode (i.e. Enterprise mode).

Required components

The following components must be installed first before it will be possible to take payments through Datacap:
1. NETePay on the central Server within the Store.
2. dsiEMVUS in the POS machine
3. Install Device drivers for the PIN Pad on the POS machine

Configuration Steps

1. Install and Setup NETePay on server
a. Download dsiEMVUS from the abovementioned URL. It is available under the NETePay section. Please download the files related to your payment processor only. If you need more information and guidance, then please contact Datacap.
b. Install NETePay on the server (it can be the Store server or any other PC in the Store premises).
2. Installing dsiEMVUS on POS
a. Download and then install dsiEMVUS from http://www.datacapepay.com/downloadmenu/. It is available under the Client Controls section.
3. Install device driver for the PIN Pad on the POS
In this example, VX805 is used for reference, for installing the device:
a. Connect the VX805 device to your computer. If you are using USB cables, you should have received a USB device driver with your device. Make sure to install the driver.
a. Go to the Windows, Control Panel > Devices and Printers and verify that the VX805 is displayed. If you are using USB, also check that virtual COM Port has been assigned. Note down the COM port number, which will be used in Payment Processor configuration on iVend Management Console.
Change the COM port to the one your VX805 is attached to (from step 2 above). If using USB, the VeriFone USB driver typically defaults to COM 9.
4. Settings on the Management Console:
a. Go to Administration > Retail Configuration > Payment Processor
b. Click [F3 New], to open a new Payment Processor setup screen.
c. Enter “DatacapEMV” (or any other suitable text) in Code and Description fields.
d. In the Payment Processor field, select DatacapEMV from the list as shown in the below screen image:

e. Click the [Config] button to open the DatacapEMV configuration screen.
f. Input the values in the fields as per the information detailed below:
· Merchant Id:  As provided by the Payment Processor.
· Card Type: Foodstamp
· COM PORT: Enter the port number, which was recorded during step 3b mention earlier in the Configuration Steps.
· Secure Device: Enter the values based on the device and Payment Processor. The values can be check from the following link: https://www.datacapsystems.com/compatible-devices
· NetePay MachineIP: Enter the IP address of the NETePay server.
· IP Port: 9000 is the default. Change it if required.
· EMV Param Download: This is to be checked only when it is required. Generally, when a device is being used for the first time, Datacap prompts you to download the configuration. This can also happen if some configuration changes are to be pushed from Datacap to the Pin Pads. In all such conditions “EMV Param Download” must be set to True so that the system can download fresh configuration settings as required.  Once the new settings are downloaded, then the flag should be set to False.
If the flag is left to True, then the POS system will take an extra 2 to 3 minutes to start up.

a. Click [Ok] to save the Config settings and to close the screen to return to the main Payment Processor screen.
b. Click [Ok], to save the settings on the main Payment Processor setup screen and to close the Datacap Payment processor setup.
5. Payment Processor Unique Identifier on the POS
On the POS setup screen, the Terminal ID (provided by Datacap) should be entered in Payment Processor Unique Identifier field. If it is blank, the POS will show an error upon start up.

Possible Errors and Troubleshooting

A Common Error Message that can be Returned during the POS Start up
If there is any error with the Datacap configuration or any other setting related to it, the POS will usually show an error during the start up at the POS, as shown in the below screen image.
The error information will be logged into the POS log file (Generally, located in the following path with the standard installation of iVend Retail, where the value [Local User] needs to be replaced with the actual logged in user:
C:\Users\[Local User]\AppData\Local\CitiXsys\CXS.Retail)
1. dsiEMVUS is not installed:
In case dsiEMVUS is not installed on the POS machine an error similar to the one shown below will be captured in the POS log file.
<Message>Retrieving the COM class factory for component with CLSID {F17CF553-1802-4450-92E1-469A0544FD63} failed due to the following error: 80040154 Class not registered (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80040154 (REGDB_E_CLASSNOTREG)).</Message>
2. Payment Processor Unique Identifier is Blank
If the Payment Processor Unique Identifier is not setup on the POS Master from the iVend Management Console then the POS will show an error during start up that will indicate this
