Coupons and Gift Cards integration in iVend Digital Commerce

Coupons

Coupons are vouchers entitling the holder to a discount off a particular product or products. It is a promotional tool, used by Retailers, to give discounts while selling goods or services. Coupons can be created to provide a discount on a Percentage basis or an Amount basis. On applying coupons to a transaction, iVend applies the discount to the item as per the Coupon setup. There are numerous parameters and rules that can be defined in iVend Retail, to allow configuration of coupons as a promotional tool.

Note: Coupons created in iVend, gets listed under the Cart Price Rules in Magento.

Cart Price Rules are promotions that are applied to coupons. In simple words, these are like discounts applied to items in the shopping cart. The discount can be set to be applied automatically, as soon as the conditions are met, or upon entering a valid coupon code. When applied, the discount is reflected in the cart under the subtotal.

Login to Magento as an Administrator. Browse to the location, as shown in the image. Open Cart Price Rules:  Marketing à Cart Price Rules.

All the Coupons created in iVend Retail gets listed in the Cart Price Rules as shown in the below image.

 Gift Cards

Gift Cards, also known as Gift Certificates, are vouchers that can be sold in iVend Retail POS with a predefined amount or open amount. Later on, the customer can use the GC voucher as a means of payment for a transaction at the POS – The voucher can be used in full or partially during the payment tendering process. Gift Card in iVend is defined as Product and integrates as Product in Magento. The Configuration for the Gift Cards in Magento is done at following location with administrator login: Store à Configuration à MEGAWORX à Gift Card à Main settings Page.

In Magento the Gift card from iVend comes as a product. Log in as administrator in the Magento and browse to location Catalog à Products

The Gift cards from iVend can be filtered as type – [Gift Card (by MageWorx)] in Magento.

The gift cards from iVend gets listed when you apply the filters. The below listed are the gift cards integrated from iVend. The Gift card from iVend is displayed as Gift card (by MageWorx) as a Product.

Once the Gift card are integrated from iVend to Magento they can be seen as Gift Card List under Marketing.

The gift cards that have been issued from iVend gets listed as Gift Card List under Marketing. These Gift cards may have Automatically Generated Numbers or User Defined Numbers. These Gift cards can be redeemed at the time of checking out from the cart, option to use Gift card is displayed.

Gift Cards are configurable in Magento via third-party Extension, called MageWorx – Gift Cards extension for Magento.  Gift Cards issued in iVend Retail can seamlessly integrate with Magento.
